Laura Wilson will share her reflections on why Mexico has captured her artistic attention for more than 20 years, setting the stage for an evening that blends art, lived experience, and economic insight. The SMU Mission Foods Texas-Mexico Center and the Meadows Museum invite you to join Roaming Mexico: Laura Wilson with an expert-guided exhibition tour.

Jesús Cañas, Senior Business Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will then guide attendees through selected works and provide a unique macro-level perspective that connects the photographs to the Center’s five focus areas: trade and investment, border issues, energy, migration, and human capital and education. He will highlight how the images depict broader economic and social forces shaping modern Mexico and the U.S.–Mexico relationship.

This interdisciplinary tour will bring together art, lived experience, and economic insight.
