An event designed specifically for

Global Young Leaders logo

The Global Young Leaders program hosts annual leadership trainings for North Texas high school students participating in Junior World Affairs Council (JWAC) clubs. In addition, the Top Ten JWACs session focuses on a different topic related to our four pillars of global competence: diplomatic leadership, civic engagement, problem-solving, and cultural intelligence. Students plan and execute the event with the help of the Council while learning first-hand leadership traits.

Social media has a significant and complex impact on global affairs, transforming how states and citizens interact through digital diplomacy, public mobilization, and the rapid spread of information. While platforms enable cross-border movements for social change and allow leaders to directly address global audiences, they also pose challenges by amplifying misinformation, contributing to societal polarization, and becoming tools for state-controlled propaganda.
