Gary Wolens is an investor and retired private equity executive who has returned to Texas after spending the past 35 years in London, most recently as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Societe General Newedge UK Ltd. and a member of the Investor Committee of MMC Enterprise Capital Fund. After receiving a BA in economics from Stanford and an MBA in finance from Harvard, Gary joined Ernst Young and then continued on in Equity Derivatives at Donaldson. In 1985, he became Co-Head of European Equities at Salomon Brothers in London. He became Global Head of Equity Derivatives at ABN AMRO in 1996 and in 2007 started his own hedge fund, Merebis Capital Management. Born in Corsicana, Gary attended St. Mark School of Texas. He is a member of the Council’s Global Forum and a 2020 Mallon dinner sponsor.
