On the anniversary of the day Terry Fox dipped his artificial leg in the Atlantic to begin his cross-country journey, the humanitarian athlete’s brother, Fred Fox, had one message for students at St. Thomas High School in Pointe-Claire.
“Obviously, we don’t want to give out used underwear.”
HanesBrands, the parent company of Wonderbra, has stepped forward to donate undergarments to a Montreal women’s shelter, citing a Global News story that highlighted the organization’s desperate need for underwear.
“That was, for me, a moment when I felt this was a very special orchestra.”

Back to his roots

Maurice Podbrey migrated from South Africa when he was 27 and founded Montreal’s Centaur Theatre in 1967.
